The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is a group of parents committed to promoting interaction among families, teachers and community partners to build the TIS community, support the teachers and support each other. We provide information to parents and we organize fun community events and we help to coordinate volunteer efforts around the school. As fellow TIS parents, we can also serve as a resource to answer questions or identify the right school resource.
The International School at Mesa del Sol depends on significant parent involvement to make our school one of the best schools in Albuquerque. Each family is expected to commit to 20 hours per year of volunteer service to the school. The volunteer activities at the school are coordinated by the Parent Advisory Committee.
The committee is open to all members of the TIS community and meets once a month. PAC Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the Month at 3:45 PM in room 3. Each meeting has a presentation topic to inform parents about the school and to provide resources to help our students and families

Sign Up to be a Room Parent: (Click for Room Parent Form) A room parent supports the teacher, staff and PAC in making TIS a great school. The room parents help connect families from each classroom with the larger school community. Examples of activities a room parent will help with include:
- Coordinating a class/grade-level raffle basket for Monsters On The Mesa
- Coordinating a day of treats for the teachers and staff during teacher appreciation week in May.
- Collecting donations for and purchase gifts for the teacher for special occasions. These might include holidays (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and/or Teacher Appreciation Day), his or her birthday, the end of the school year and other special events such as a baby or wedding shower, get well, etc.
Serving as a room parent, although an ongoing activity does not need to take much time on a day-to-day basis. Serving as the room parent will meet the 20 hour volunteer requirement for the family.
Donation Items: TIS can use these Donation-Items 2016-2017. If you have access to these items, please bring them to the office. If you have questions, email TISPAC@tisnm.org
